Block: I’m ready to win

by Giles Wade / 18th October 2013

Ken Block starts today’s Lake Superior Performance Rally with his best chance ever of landing his maiden Rally America title.

Driving his Hoonigan Racing Division Fiesta, Block arrives on the shores of Lake Superior, Michigan on the back of three successive victories and he knows a fourth will make his American champion for the first time.

“This is definitely an exciting position to be in,” said Block. “We started off the season with some bad luck during the first three events, but we’ve gone out and won the last three and clawed our way back from the brink of a disastrous start. Now we’re set up for this ultimate battle in the final race. For us, it’s one of those must-win situations, but I’m feeling confident that we’ll have good pace on stage and that our car is properly dialled in. I’m ready to win this thing and bring home my first ever championship title!”

The man standing in his way is David Higgins, the British driver who helped tutor Block through the early stages of his career. Subaru USA star Higgins has finished on the podium on every Rally America round this season and is chasing a third straight RA title.

LSPR starts today (Friday) at 1230 (local time) and finishes 17 stages later tomorrow evening.
