Spain saw Sebastien Loeb complete a remarkable feat for the Citroën C4 WRC - this car has never been defeated on an asphalt WRC rally (Despite the much welcomed introduction of a day on gravel to the itinerary). Whilst Seb’s path to victory was never challenged, the fight for second between Petter Solberg and Dani Sordo was an epic one. The JWRC Championship was decided in favour of Germany’s Aaron Burkart. Hans Weijs looked set to take the title until mechanical failure intervened on the final stage. Biggest shock of the rally was provided by former F1 champ Kimi Raikkonen who crashed on his first full speed run on the shakedown test.
