All too often seasoned pros amongst the WRC fraternity can be heard lamenting the past. When one thinks of the ‘old’ Portugal rally, the visual highlights such as the mad Fafe jump and the views in Arganil spring to mind, iconic images of a bygone era. After a 5 year absence from the WRC calendar, Portugal returned to the championship in 2007 and it has to be said that the ‘new’ rally is nothing compared to the ‘old’ - from an atmospheric visual point of view. Still, as photographers we must work with the palette at our disposal and here McKlein present a small selection of images from the 2011 Portugal Rally.
