Eyvind Brynildsen will make his World Rally Car debut in Sweden, having secured a deal to join Mads Ostberg in the Adapta Ford line-up, and hopes it is the start of a longer programme.

The 24-year-old Norwegian has been a regular in the Production and S2000 categories in recent years.

"To compete in a WRC-car is the dream of every rally driver. And what can be better than to do that in cooperation with the 'neighbour'?" said Brynildsen, who will also contest Rally Finnskog in the car.

"I will prepare well for the task, and at the starting line of the shakedown, I will have done 250 kilometres of testing. I will do my very best to have a good result in the rally. I hope that this is the start of something that can be extended to more WRC rallies later on. We are working hard to get a budget."

Adapta team boss Morten Ostberg thinks Brynildsen has not yet had a proper chance to show what he can do at WRC level.

"Eyvind is a driver with international potential. He had a lot of unlucky situations last season. We will do everything we can to ensure that the luck turns now," said Ostberg. "We have top mechanics in the preparation of the car, we work closely with M-Sport on engineering and spare parts, and Mads will share all his set-ups and experiences. I hope and believe this is the start of a long collaboration."
