Pierre Campana hopes he can secure additional outings in the World Rally Championship this season following his seventh-place finish on the Monte Carlo Rally last week.

Campana partnered Dani Sordo as Kris Meeke’s replacement in the cash-strapped Prodrive-run team. The Corsican had contested the event twice before and brought with him backing from several French firms.

The 26-year-old said: “I hope my performances in Monte Carlo have opened up my potential to teams and manufacturers. Mini have been fantastic to me and it was a joy to work with them and to drive the Mini John Cooper Works WRC car again in a WRC event. I am hopeful that this might unlock some opportunities for me for 2012 and I am keen to return to [the] WRC as soon as possible to put this valuable experience into practice.”
